Homeland In-Security

BroadArts Theatre's controversial dramady with music about women peacemakers, is even MORE relevant now than when it opened in 2002! Written by Melinda E. Pittman, Artistic Director of BroadArts Theatre, HOMELAND IN~SECURITY is a dark comedic story of four generations of women peacemakers and their~ and our- bravery and resilience.

The cast includes historic characters- Jane Addams, the mother of American Social Work, Jeannette Rankin, first American woman Congressional Representative, Barbara Lee, the only member of Congress to vote against the first Patriot Act, and Bertha Von Suttner, the first Pacifist, and first female winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1903.

BroadArts' satiric fiction is built around a seemingly light case of mistaken incarceration. Our play with music combines magical realism, today’s headlines, tomorrow’s news, anachronistic events and historic characters in a captivating dramady of war and peace.

If your theatre, arts council, faith institution or organization would like a powerful, funny and insightful performance about the possibilities of peace, contact BroadArts Theatre at 503-288-5181 or broadarts@aol.com to schedule a touring performance of HOMELAND IN~SECURITY.
